Dr. Ephrem Gebrehana is part of the team of doctors at Dream Orthopedics, Trauma and Spine center. He has sub-specialized in Advance Trauma & Arthroplasty orthopedics surgery.
Dr. Ephrem was born and raised in Dessie, Ethiopia. He completed his doctor of medicine degree from Hawassa University being one of the first batch of the college. He also completed a four years Specialty program of General orthopedic surgery & Traumatology training in Black Lion Hospital; Addis Ababa University. Dr Ephrem also received One year sub-specialty Training in Advanced Trauma (Pelvic & Acetabulum Surgeries) and Arthroplasty at Assiut University Hospitals, Assiut Governorate, Egypt
Dr Ephrem is recognized as founding father of Orthopedics & Trauma surgery Service at Hawassa University Referral Hospital. He has been serving at the same Hospital for the past 8 years and has been directly caring and operating on lots of trauma cases and most notably complex pelvic & Acetabulum cases, Hip & Peri-articular Fractures and his main area of interest is management of difficult fractures and Neglected Musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr Ephrem has significant contribution to the science of Orthopedics and Trauma surgery publishing different scientific & collaborative publications. He has been serving in different leadership posts of the clinical environment and professional societies. He is highly involved in different collaborative projects working on neglected problems of Musculoskeletal conditions.
He is immensely involved in training and examination of the next generation of orthopedic surgeons, General surgeons and Medical students . He is passionate advocate for public awareness of Orthopedic problems in the country and has presented on different musculoskeletal conditions on multiple national and international conferences and in addition has published dozens of articles on the subject matter.
